Biodegradable and compostable straws
Biodegradable and compostable tubes are an interesting alternative for those who are unable to accept paper straws. In terms of product structure, these straws are similar to traditional plastic ones, but due to the raw material used, this product will safely degrade in the natural environment, leaving no trace. Biodegradable/compostable products, unlike paper tubes, do not soak when left in a drink for several hours, which will certainly be appreciated by users, especially children, as experience shows that an average child uses at least two eco-paper tubes to consume a drink – this is due to the tendency to chew the straw while drinking.
For our demanding customers, we offer PHA compostable tubes, i.e. made of polyhydroxyalkanoates, which are produced from monomers produced by bacteria in the process of fermentation of sugars or lipids.
The PHA we use has been tested in an international laboratory for compliance with the ISO 13432 standard “Requirements for packaging suitable for recovery by composting and biodegradation” and has been certified for industrial compostability, home composting, biodegradation in sea water and also in soil.
In 2021, we received our own “Compost Industrial” and “Compost Home” certificates for white PHA tubes, and in 2023 we certified PHA straws in various colors.

For demanding customers, we offer biodegradable/compostable tubes with individual color printing in 7mm diameter. The paints we use are safe, do not contain heavy metals, aromatic primary amines and other substances harmful to health.
Our printed products have been tested in an accredited laboratory for compliance with Regulation 10/2011 Commission Regulation (EC) No 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
